How do I find images?
Answer
There are many places on the web where you can find images that you can use without violating copyright. Below are some of your best bets.
Find Images of Art Work
- ArtStor (These images can be used for class projects and other scholarly works that are not published to the web.)
Find Images of Wheaton
Find General and Stock Images
- Creative Commons
- Wikimedia Commons
- Pixabay (stock images)
- Unsplash (stock images)
- Pexels (stock images and videos)
- nappy (“beautiful, high res photos of black and brown people”)
- The Gender Spectrum Collection ("stock photos beyond the binary")
Many museums and institutions have released collections of images from their collections with little to no copyright restrictions, including the Smithsonian Institution and The Metropolitan Museum of Art (check the Open Access option).
